Ballybofey and Stranorlar Integrated Community Company (BASICC) was formed in 2006 to address the social, cultural and economic needs of the local area.  BASICC’s committee is made up of local social entrepreneurs who are dedicated to achieving sustainable economic growth.

It was identified from a very early stage that the provision of an enterprise centre would be crucial to enabling and supporting economic development.  This became a focus for BASICC and after considerable negotiation, consultation and planning BASICC secured €1.4 million funding to build a bespoke enterprise centre, ‘The BASE’

The BASE Enterprise Centre Stranorlar Donegal

Funding for ‘The BASE’ has been secured from the SPECIAL EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), the International Fund for Ireland (IFI), Enterprise Ireland (EI) and Donegal County Council (DCC).

Enterprise Centres are a proven means of generating economic growth. Research carried out on behalf of the National Association of Community Enterprise Centres (NACEC) estimates that 1,133 businesses in 76 centres surveyed would not have started if their local enterprise centre did not exist (July 2013).

The BASE will enable businesses to start and grow through access to resources, information and support. The current economic climate provides both opportunities and challenges to new and existing businesses. The BASE will provide hot desk facilities, a designated start up area, units and offices of various sizes, meeting and training rooms, communal spaces and much more…..

Staff at The BASE are dedicated to maximising all opportunities for the centre and the aim is to establish The BASE as a hub for creativity, opportunity and collaboration.
